The 1% Reset: Small Shifts for a Smoother Week

My Sunday Reset this week is quick and simple. Instead of trying to reset everything today, I’m just focusing on 1%.

Here’s the idea: you don’t always need a full overhaul to improve your week. Sometimes, a tiny adjustment is all it takes to create momentum. A 1% shift today can make things 10% easier later this week.

Here are a few prompts to guide a 1% reset:

1. One space to tidy in 10 minutes.

Not your whole apartment – just your desk, the chair where laundry piles up, or even just clearing and wiping the kitchen counter. Messy spaces can be surprisingly distracting during the week, and taking 10 quick minutes to reset one spot can make a big difference for productivity in the week head.

2. One task to cross off quickly.

What’s the nagging little thing you’ve been avoiding? Replying to an email, submitting a form, moving a file? Knocking off even one small task can free up mental space for everything else.

3. One way to rest without guilt.

A walk, a stretch, a nap, a feel-good TV show – anything that reminds your brain and body that rest matters too. A reset isn’t just about doing more, it’s also about restoring balance.

When we think of resets, it’s easy to imagine big overhauls: new schedules, deep cleans, major productivity hacks. But often, the smaller 1% shifts are the ones that actually stick.

So today, instead of aiming for perfection, ask yourself: what’s one small thing I can do today to benefit future me?

Even the tiniest progress adds up. And sometimes, that’s all you need to feel reset.
